Sonib 200 Ingredients and Usage

Sonib 200 contains sorafenib, an oral multikinase inhibitor used to treat several advanced cancers. A multikinase inhibitor is a drug that blocks multiple enzymes that signal cancer cells to grow. Doctors prescribe Sonib 200 for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma, the main form of liver cancer.

Sonib 200 also treats advanced renal cell carcinoma, a kidney cancer that has spread beyond the kidney. It treats differentiated thyroid carcinoma that no longer responds to radioactive iodine therapy. Oncologists reserve this medicine for tumours that surgery cannot remove or that have progressed.

How Does Sonib 200 Work?

Sonib 200 blocks two groups of targets that drive tumour growth and blood supply. Sorafenib inhibits RAF kinase inside the RAF/MEK/ERK pathway, the signalling cascade that tells cancer cells to multiply. Blocking this pathway slows tumour cell proliferation and triggers apoptosis, the natural process of cancer cell death.

Sorafenib also inhibits receptor tyrosine kinases including VEGFR-2, VEGFR-3 and PDGFR-beta. These receptors control angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels that feed a tumour. By cutting off this blood supply, Sonib 200 starves the tumour and limits its spread.

Sonib 200 Side Effects

Sonib 200 causes side effects in most patients, with skin and digestive reactions being most frequent. Report severe or persistent symptoms to your oncologist promptly.

• Diarrhoea, affecting up to 43 percent of patients

• Hand foot skin reaction, causing painful redness on the palms and soles

• Skin rash, itching and dry skin

• Fatigue and general weakness

• Hair loss (alopecia)

• High blood pressure (hypertension), often in the first six weeks

• Loss of appetite, weight loss and nausea

• Abdominal pain and mouth pain

Warnings

• Sonib 200 carries Pregnancy Category D and may harm an unborn baby. Women must use effective contraception during treatment.

• Do not take Sonib 200 if you have a known allergy to sorafenib or any tablet ingredient.

• Avoid strong CYP3A4 inducers such as rifampicin, as they lower sorafenib blood levels and reduce its effect.

• Sorafenib competes with calcium channel blockers like diltiazem in the CYP3A4 pathway, raising their plasma levels.

• Sonib 200 can raise blood pressure. Have your blood pressure checked within the first two to three weeks.

• This medicine increases bleeding risk and rarely causes gastrointestinal perforation. Seek urgent care for severe abdominal pain.

• Avoid grapefruit, which interferes with how the body processes sorafenib.

Sonib 200 Storage Conditions

Store Sonib 200 below 30 degrees Celsius in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the tablets in their original blister pack to protect them from light and humidity until use. Sonib 200 does not require refrigeration.
